Abdullah Badawi to step down on March 2009
If you actually read chedet.com , you had probably heard about how the council of UMNO rumored using harsh words asking Pak Lah to step down till his face turns blue. I actually enjoy reading that as it was something that they should have done back when we lost 5 states on March this year.
Today, UMNO General Election has been postponed from December to March 2009. It is said that Abdullah will not defend his position as the President of Umno and will resign from Prime Minister . As quoted from Malaysian Insider;
He is expected to announce that he will not defend his party president’s position, possibly just after the Hari Raya holidays.
He will then stay on as party president and prime minister until March 2009. Presumably he will be given some time to complete some of the reforms he promised Malaysians and then be given a grand send off at the party assembly.
Party vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who has been one of those pressuring Pak Lah to step down earlier, said after the meeting, that the postponement of the general assembly was effectively a new deadline for Abdullah to leave office.
What I want to know is why must it be postponed to March. They should have just continue election on December and make him resigned on December! On related news, Khairy ( menantu pak lah ) announced candidacy for Umno Youth Chief Post. I don’t know about the members inside umno supporting him, but I do know that every single rakyat outside hates him. So it would be a surprise if he actually won. Full noted.

Surat Mukhriz kepada Pak Lah
Terbaca kat website malaysiakini.com mengenai surat dr anak Tun Mahathir , yakni Mukhriz kepada Pak Lah yg menggesa Pak Lah meletakkan jawatan. Mengikut pd website malaysiakini, surat ni tak dicadangkan utk diedar kepada umum, tp terlepas kat internet dan beberapa blog politik.
Berikut adalah antara intisari² surat tersebut;
“Hanya dengan peletakan jawatan Perdana Menteri dan presiden Umno oleh Datuk Seri sendiri dapat pemulihan Umno, BN dan negara dilakukan dengan jaya,” katanya dalam sepucuk surat peribadinya kepada Abdullah.
“Saya berharap Datuk Seri (Abdullah) faham bahawa surat saya ini dibuat degan niat untuk menyelamatkan keadaan yang amat mencemaskan. Gerakan (pihak tertentu) telah bermula untuk menarik wakil-wakil rakyat BN supaya melompat ke parti lawan.
