How to top up Paypal using Cimb Clicks directly
Paypal has allow us to top up / transfer money directly from local bank into paypal. The method of topping up is same for every bank and this guide i’m making can be use by users of other local banks as well. What do you need to be able to use this option ;
- 1. A paypal account that has already been activated
- 2. Online bank account such as Cimb Clicks, RHB , Bank Islam, Pbe bank , maybank2u, hong leong online.
- 3. Enable pop up browser in your browser. In firefox that will be in tools-option-content- untick disable pop up . You may not be able to complete this transaction if you did not disable block pop-up browser.
1. Logon Paypal and choose top up and pick RHB if you’re using RHB bank , if not choose Other Bank. Other bank than RHB will be charge RM2 per transaction.
2. Input amount of money you wish to top up. Make sure you choose USD, if you accidently pick MYR or other currency, you may not be able to use the amount of money you top up later. This is because most transaction with merchants is in USD.
3. A window will pop-up asking which bank would you be topping your paypal with. In this guide we’ll be using Cimb Clicks.
4. The next window will open your bank login webpage. Login your online bank as usual and request TAC. After that click submit and wait for it to process. Do print or save screenshot of the receipt of your transaction. FPX window from before will show that transaction has been approved. Click next and paypal will update your top-up.
5. When you check your balance, you will see the amount of money has been updated.
After topping up paypal using cimb clicks, I checked in my Paypal profile – Add/ Edit Bank account and saw my CIMB Bank account has been added as my primary bank. Upon checking what the status means, paypal explain;
By the looks of it, we Malaysian might be able to activate our Paypal just by adding local bank account. No more credit cards, probably.

Tumpang tanya. Saya dah verified account paypal saya tapi time nak topup tu, hanya pilihan untuk topup melalui rhb bank je yg ade, untuk other bank tak ada. Maca mana eh?
haritu dia disable utk maintenance. buat masa ni kena pakai cara lainlah utk topup

macam mana nak topup pakai debit card tu bro? card cimb debit dah ada dah, akaun paypal pun dah verified. Cuma nak topup ikut card debit cimb tu xtau. Or ada cara lain lagi untuk topup selain dari pakai akaun rhb tu?

sakit kepala tak dapat verify, call cimb kata debit card ni sudah active, mereka juga tak tau…sila tunjuk ajar…tq
dah topup dlm debit card ammount yg mencukupi belum? nama dan alamat dlm paypal harus lah sama dgn yg di debit card.
kalau semua dah betul, kena contact paypal dan tanya mereka pula.
bro, aku mintak kawan aku yg ade cimb online banking utk transfer ke akunye email paypal.. boleh ke? kt paypal tu kan dia ade option utk request payment(Recipient’s email address).. so aku add email CIMB kawan aku, boleh ke dia send duit tu terus masuk ke akunye paypal?

kalau lupa pass telepon la maybank2u tanya .. dia akan tanya ko no ic no akaun dgn no atm card je.

Hello… I just want to ask, Did they Temporary disable top-up via other banks? I saw RHB is the only option. i cannot top up using CIMB Clicks anymore.
yes they have temporarily disabled it and only RHB is available for now
CIMB debit card can’t be use for online transaction if I’m not mistaken.

*Note: Top-up is enabled with RHB bank account. This feature is currently not available for other Malaysian bank accounts.

CIMB debit card ni boleh gune untuk transaction kat TESCO, GIANT semua x? Kalau boleh ade extra charge x untuk transaction kat retailers camtu. Masalah sikit kat diri sendiri yang malas nak bawak cash banyak2. Ingat nak apply tok CIMB Islamic MASTERCARD Debit card.
And lagi satu.
Yang pasal paypal nie memang die dah terminate ke service die dari CIMB punye account ke boleh lagi.

boleh guna dkt tesco giant dan lain2 tp ada charge takde charge tu tak sure. tgk atas retailer gak
btw card yg cth kat sini bkn cimb islamic debit. yg ni E.Mastercard , dah tak available.
