Mercs Vs Perdana v3

Malaysiakini portal has this report http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/86435 headlined: No Terengganu Awards this year which says for the first time ever palace would not be handing any form of awards in conjunction with Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin’s birthday. Terengganu state secretary Mokhtar Nong said that sultan’s birthday bash would be carried out “in moderation”. That was of course good news as the Sultan knows that his subjects are feeling the “economic”pinch and the palace should lead by example.

Then came this” Terengganu government to purchase 14 Mercedes E200 Kompressor as official cars for its executive councillors and senior government officials.” DPM Najib know that the government is already in the “HOT” news for all the “political” and “economic” issues defended the federal governement’s policy of using the national car “Proton Perdana V6 Executive”. The cabinet will discuss whether the move was appropriate.

    QUOTE
Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said a total of RM1.15 million have been spent on maintaining the state’s 16 car fleet since they were purchased in 2004. This figure includes the repair costs of RM175,229.97 and RM132,357.76 for two of the cars that was revealed earlier this week. In addition, former MB Idris Jusoh’s car incurred a cost of RM131,600 in the first two months alone this year during the period he was the MB before he was replaced after the elections by Datuk Ahmad Said.

Datuk Ahmad Said is personally using his 18 year old Mercedes-Benz as his official car as it was still in good condition. He added that the main culprits are gearbox maintenance and fuel consumption, which leads me to believe that these huge figures also include the fuel bills for the car.

The MB added that the Terengganu state government will be happy to auction off the newly-purchased E200Ks and return to using the Perdana V6 Executive if the Federal government bears the cost of maintaining the fleet.

The Star reported through its SMS alerts service today that several senior officers have been interviewed by the Terengganu ACA over the Perdana fleet’s maintenance costs.

Lol.. skaligus menunjukkan ada benda tak kena dgn pengurusan zaman Idris Jusoh..
